I have been in hibernation mode a little bit lately, so much so I didn't even realise I hadn't updated my blog for weeks! To catch up, I thought I'd do a little update on what's been happening lately.
First off, I am so over cold weather, I'm ready for dresses, wedges, a tan and putting my 5000 blankets away! This has been a really hard winter for me, I normally don't get sick but somehow I have gotten sick a few times since January and I just really want to feel better and have more energy. I am very confident that sundresses will help with this. I am already online browsing to add more to my collection.
At the beginning of March, I helped my sister at a bridal show by being her "model" and it was so fun. As you can see, she did my hair very Jenn style with the headband. I originally had a different headband on, and it hurt my head so bad. She felt bad and took it off and put the softer one on, and then told me I'd been wearing a garter on my head. No wonder it hurt so much.
My momma got back a few weeks ago from her missions trip to South Africa, so we've been spending lots of time together. She took the amazing photo above along with a zillion others. I'm going to organize a blog for her so she can post them all.
We also celebrated Leigh's 30th birthday in a lame low key manner, which is exactly what he wanted. We had a few different dinners, and I made his favourite recipe, lasagna rolls. They turned out the best I've ever made them, even though I used store bought sauces.
We've been having weekly dinners at my parents place to all watch Dallas together. It's fun because we all have different interests but we all love the show. Except my Mom, she thinks everyone is too conniving and it bothers her. But she still watches, I've noticed. :-P
In other show news, I am SO sad that How I Met your Mother is almost over. Pretty much everyone I know argues with me that they want it to be over and it's not as good anymore, but I disagree, I still love it. Any episode with the mother, I love. I wish she was in more episodes. Next Monday is the last episode and I'm so sad, it reminds me of when Friends ended. I'm a dork I know.
I am also patiently waiting for our apartment to be done. January feels SOOO far away but I know it'll be here before we know it. I have a few projects planned, such as painting some nightstands and re-doing our kitchen table. I'm just waiting till the weather gets a bit better so I can work on them. Looking at decorating ideas is so much fun.

A few weeks ago, we went over to the island with our friends that are getting married in June because Leigh is the MC. We stayed in this amazing hotel in Cowichan Bay, it was so nice. Their wedding venue is seriously so cool, it's called Merridale Cidery. They make delicious cider, have a restaurant and hold weddings there. It's very rustic and barn like which is very in right now and totally suits our friend's country personalities.
They also have all these little fairy areas set up, which I just about died when I saw. They're sooo cute.
Alright, I think that pretty much brings us up to date! Hopefully I'll have some more exciting things going on or at least try to blog more than once a month! I've got some new recipes to share soon so at least there's that!
