How to Attract Whatever You Want

This is something I've wanted to talk about for a long time and I don't know why I never have. I am a huge believer in the law of attraction. You can call it whatever you want, and I'm not talking about religious beliefs because I believe this works in accordance with all beliefs.

I know everyone has probably heard of the law of attraction and "the Secret" but have you ever tried using it? I've actually been using it for a very long time, before I even knew what I was doing. When I first started working, I would write the name of the place I wanted to get a job and taped it up on my wall. I got the job every single time.

Yesterday morning, I woke up with a start and realised that I am literally living this life surrounded by things I attracted to me. Every single thing has been attracted on purpose. My husband (I had a list of attributes in my ideal husband-yes makes me laugh was on the very top), my apartment, my job, Leigh's job, even my body have all been attracted to me because I wrote down EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.
I have the lists to prove that what I have is what I wanted. I wanted an apartment that was cozy and newer and we could make home for awhile. I wanted a job that would support me and I would have fun doing while I pursued my personal training, competing and other interests. I wanted a fit, healthy body that I could have fun dressing up. All of these things are written in my lovely notebook. I highly recommend getting a pretty one! Or a cool leather one if you're a boy.

Whenever I get inspired, I write down things in my little notebook. I make lists of things I want to do, places I want to visit. It is all happening.
There are a few key things to remember when it comes to using the law of attraction:\

1. Don't worry about the how. When I was writing out our dream apartment list, I worried that it may be out of our price range. I ended up putting an ad on Craigslist, got an email within minutes from my now-landlord.  Our apartment would be out of our price range, but our landlord offered us lower rent. Write down what you want, the how will unravel itself.

2. Know that you need to do the work. Nothing will appear out of thin air. You still have to apply for that job, go on that date, go do your workout, post that ad on craigslist. Things will start happening for you when you start DOING things for yourself.

3. Visualise what it is that you want. This worked very well for me when I was training for my competition. Every time I got on that treadmill, I pictured myself standing on the stage. My vision was so clear, there was no doubt in my mind I'd get there. And I did!

4. BELIEVE! Once you start to believe, there will be no stopping you. Things might not come the second you wish for them or in the right order, but they will arrive eventually!

There is really nothing to lose thinking this way. Worst case scenario, you get to daydream about your ultimate life! I'll give you an example. Monday I posted on my Facebook about needing a new gym membership. Wednesday I was handed a one month pass to one right by my work.  Here's another example: a few years ago, when I was working in an office, I set my desktop background to gerbera daisies. They are my absolute favourite flower. Two days later, my Mom showed up at my work with a bunch for me. My Mom does nice things for me all the time, but this was the first time she'd ever brought me flowers to work! And it's funny that she would bring that exact type of flower to me at work, when I was looking at gerbera daisies all day on my computer.

If you are curious about this, try this: Think of something you want to attract, start with something small. Like a cup of coffee. Keep thinking about how you want a cup of coffee to appear. See if one shows up in your life, someone may offer to bring you a coffee, ask you to go for coffee, or in some other form! It really is amazing.

Taren

  1. I totally agree with you Taren. My boss told me once about how him and his wife really wanted a child but couldn't have one naturally so they had been pursuing adoption. The process was proving to be more difficult than they expected. He wrote down on a 3X5 card the date that they would have a child. He kept it in a safe place and truly believed it would happen for them. The date came and went but soon enough they got a call that there was a baby born that would be theirs. When he looked back at the card and did the math, he realized that the date he wrote down was 9 months before they got the call.

  2. Hey :) I'm just curious - do you have any tips for posting an ad on craigslist to find a place? I'm currently looking for a place (somewhere I can truly make my "home") and I'm not sure how to go about it. Where exactly did you post? What did you say? Any help would be hugely appreciated!! :)
